Here for your (F)requently (A)sked (Q)uestions:
- I DIDN'T GET AN EMAIL WITH DISCORD DETAILS, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
First - check your spam/junk for an email, and if it's not there then send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Note that if you only recently registered, you may not have been approved yet, so be patient young padawan.
- WHAT IF SOMEONE IS BEING INAPPROPRIATE/ABUSIVE/SEXIST/ETC?
Message one of the moderators directly via Discord and let them know. Any form of harassment such as but not limited to oppressive and offensive language, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and other discrimination against people of diverse sexualities and genders, as well as racism, ableism, classism, and any prejudice against those who are non-normative or marginalised, will not be tolerated.
Once informed, the host will remove the person from the call or Wonder session, and will take further follow-up action via Discord to address the problem. We take a zero tolerance towards any sort of bullshit behavior, and any inappropriate behavior will result in permanent removal from this community.
- WHAT IF I'M IN A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE I JUST DON'T LIKE?
If the current session is taking place in Discord, feel free to just hop on over to another voice chat room instead. If we're in Wonder, you can easily walk on over to another group and join a different conversation — just like you would at an industry event.
- HOW DO YOU CHOOSE WHO IS APPROVED ON THIS LIST?
This is an invite only group, and if someone else who has already attended vouches for you, you're probably good. We limit it to people who are making their living (i.e. professionals) in the video game industry, as well as students who are currently active in dedicated games industry programs who have worked on development projects or who are nearing graduation.
- HOW DO I LEAVE/UNSUBSCRIBE?
Head to this page for details on how to be scrubbed from the list and you won't get any of our glorious emails ever again.
- WHY IS THIS CALLED “SAVEPOINT INDUSTRY GATHERING”?
SavePoint was created to give all folks of under-represented genders in the games industry a refuge from being the "odd-one-out" - like finally getting to the Save Point in a game after all the hard work getting there, this is a space you can kick back, relax, and feel free to just be yourself!
The "Industry Gathering" portion of the event represents our ties to the Games Industry Gathering, a networking space for industry professionals from all groups.
- WHO RUNS THIS THING?
The Industry Gathering network was created by Guy 'Yug' Blomberg, and the SavePoint Industry Gathering is totally run and managed by Katie Golden, Reese Wright, Kat Welsford, and Rebekah Valentine, aided and advised by Nika Nour and Cristina Amaya.
